A photography exhibition titled "The Struggle and Courage of the Polish People During World War II," organized jointly by Krzysztof Bojko, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Mongolia, and the Polish Cultural Center in Beijing, will be open to the public at the National Museum of Mongolia from September 24 to October 6, 2019.
From a historical perspective, September 1939 was a time of extraordinary tragedy for the Polish people. On the first day of that month, Germany launched a war against Poland—a conflict unprecedented in history that not only claimed the lives of approximately six million Polish citizens but also resulted in the deaths of millions of innocent people across many nations.
The year 2019 marks the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II. It is important to note that the Polish people continue to feel the devastating effects of this war to this day. They must never forget the tragic history endured by their forebears; therefore, to mark this anniversary, the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk, Poland, has prepared and presented this exhibition to the global community, including the people of Mongolia.
This exhibition illustrates how the Polish people fought and heroically defended their homeland during the arduous years of the war. The exhibition opening will take place at the National Museum of Mongolia on September 24, 2019, at 11:00 AM.
