The National Museum of Mongolia is first museum in Mongolia to encourage access to the museum and its collections to a broad and diverse audience, including the general public and school groups. The museum receives around 30, 000 visitors a year, approximately half of whom are foreign tourists. The biggest museum audience is students. We have a strategic goal to be effectively marketing the museum to attract more visitors.  

 

Activities for Kids

Passport through history
Holiday activity sheet, suitable for ages 5 – 8 year’s children when they visit the museum gallery using this “Passport through history” activity sheet. This sheet is including drawing and exploring activities for the Museum. Available all year in Mongolian and English, holidays, Provide activity sheet, pencil, eraser, color pencil, free with Museum entry fee of 200 togrog.

Museum lesson:  Mongolian History Alive!
This project was made by the generous support of the Canada Fund in Mongolia.
Education program about Mongolian history, including a Museum visit and Teacher‘s Resource Kit for use in the classroom. For whom: Mongolian secondary school students, class 7 and 8. Available in Mongolian only

 

Other Activities


 •    Special Events
We organize for particular purposes and occasions, the museum provides the cultural programs to visitors and participants.  Cultural and history lectures for teenagers and adults. This program invites for fanciers of the Mongolian history and culture.
•    Students program  
We provide professional programs for history, archeology/ethnology and art university’s students. We can try the learning and experience for each group size by offering a variety of subject and content. These programs are operated each semester so teachers are required register for the appropriate schedule beforehand at the beginning of the semester.

Opening times

15th May –15th September: The Museum opens daily, 9.30–18.00

Visitors may enter up to 1 hour before closing time

16th September–14th May:   Tuesday-Saturday 9.30- 5.30  

The Museum closes

 Sunday, Monday and Public holidays; 1st January, Lunar New year, 8th March, 26th November
